Labor and Delivery Unit

The Labor and Delivery Unit provides care for routine and high-risk obstetrical patients. We believe that every birth is a significant lifetime event and are committed to nurturing the infant, patient and new family. We provide critical care in a compassionate manner in order to ensure a quality transition for the family.

Patient Population

• All pregnant patients

Number of Beds

• 12 labor and delivery rooms
• 8 high-risk rooms
• 4 Pre-operative suites
• 3 Operating Rooms

Nurse/Patient Ratio

• am shift -1:1
• pm shift - 1:4

Rotation/Shifts

• 12 hour shifts 8a-8p and 8p-8a

Skill Mix

• Registered Nurse - 85%
• Patient Care Technician - 15%

Orientation

• 12 weeks with on going class requirements for 1 year
