Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy

This unit cares for patients with multiple diagnosis such as CEA, open and endo AAA, lower extremety bypass, arteriograms, and carotid stenting.

Patient Population

• Adult
• Average length of stay: 2-5 days depending on the diagnosis

Number of Beds

• 24

Nurse Patient Ratio

• Day: 1:4
• Evening/Night: 1:5

Rotation/Shifts

• 12 hour shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a
• Work every 4th weekend

Skill Mix

• Registered Nurse - 70%
• Patient Care Technician - 30%

Nursing Unit Orientation

• 6-8 weeks
