The Hospitalist Service provides care for general adult medicine patients referred by their primary care physicians.

Patient Population

• Adult
• Congestive Heart Failure
• Cellulitis
• Urinary Tract Infection
• Pneumonia
• Acute Renal Failure

Number of Beds

• 20

Nurse/Patient Ratio

• 1:4-5

Rotation/Shifts

• 12 hour shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a
• 7a shift works every 4th-6th weekend
• 7p shift works every 4th weekend
• Weekend only option available

Skill Mix

• Registered Nurse - 65%
• Patient Care Technician - 35 %

Nursing Unit Orientation

• 6-8 weeks
